We are husband and wife team, Josh and Vicky. Our passion for animals and their welfare is, and always has been, truly at the heart of everything we do. Since our humble beginnings working in pet shops, we have been involved in countless wildlife rehabilitations and escaped pet rescues, as well as caring for and adding to our own menagerie where many of the residents are rescues themselves! With over 10 years of experience working in zoos and bird of prey centres, we have amassed a plethora of knowledge spanning mammals, birds, reptiles, inverts, fish, and even primates! We love to show off our ‘mini zoo’ to family and friends, believing that the best education comes through experience. This burning passion has developed into a belief that we can help to better the understanding of exotic animals in captivity.
This is where Walk on the Wild Side was born.
We’re proud to say that Walk on the Wild Side is one of the biggest and most diverse animal experience teams in Yorkshire and the surrounding areas! Fully inspected, licensed, and insured, so you can rest assured that all of our animals are properly cared for and get the 5 star treatment that they deserve. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond the regular husbandry standards, being active members of ABWAK, and undertaking regular training and attending experience courses so we are up to date with the latest care requirements for all of our team.
